CNQ Unveils Name and Branding for Alternative Market

Pure Trading – The essence of trading

Toronto, March 6, 2006 – Canadian Quotation and Trading System, Inc. (CNQ) today announced Pure Trading, the name of its new high performance alternative market for Canadian equity securities.

Offering a high capacity/low latency trading environment, combined with an extremely attractive fee structure, Pure Trading will enable the Canadian trading community to use emerging trading technologies to their full advantage, while delivering cost savings enhancing the competitiveness of the Canadian markets.

Pure Trading’s launch culminates a busy week of activity for CNQ:  with the appointment of new officers and the appointment of John MacNaughton as Chairman, CNQ is moving aggressively towards the goal of providing competition in the provision of trade execution services in Canada.

Launched in July, 2003, CNQ is the first stock exchange to be formally recognized in Ontario in 70 years.  CNQ operates two markets:  a listed market matching enhanced disclosure and streamlined issuer regulation with leading edge technology and comprehensive regulatory oversight to meet the needs and characteristics of emerging companies, their investors and investment dealers; and Pure Trading, a high performance, low cost market offering trade execution services for equity securities listed on other Canadian trading venues.

Pure Trading is a trademark of Canadian Trading and Quotation System Inc.
