Mary Anne Palangio is the Chief Financial Officer at Ontario Retirement Pension Plan Administration Corporation. She is establishing the finance function for the organization and is responsible for strategic financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, internal control management and treasury management as well as having overall responsibility for Human Resources and Risk Management. Recognized for bridging business knowledge with technology expertise, she brings more than 25 years of senior operations, finance and technology experience in the financial sector to her role.
Prior to joining Ontario Retirement Pension Plan Administration Corporation in 2016, Mary Anne was Senior Vice President, Global Head of Operations and Data Management, Investment Division at Manulife. She moved into that role after holding the positions of Senior Vice President, Chief Information Office, Group Functions and Vice President, General Fund Investment Systems.
Before joining Manulife in 2008, Mary Anne was Executive Vice President, Operations at Perimeter Financial Corp. Prior to Perimeter, Mary Anne held senior investment operational roles with The Canada Life Assurance Company, Mackenzie Financial Corporation and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
Mary Anne’s volunteer experience includes currently sitting on the Finance and Audit Committee of Toronto Rehabilitation Institute Foundation; a former director of Easter Seals Ontario, she chaired the Audit Committee and served on the Finance, Human Resources and Board Affairs Committees from 2003 to 2011; held various positions on the National Board of Directors of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada from 1995 to 2001, including National President for two years; and Treasurer of YWCA of Metropolitan Toronto from 1990 to 1993. Mary Anne is a CPA, CA and CFA and holds a BA from the University of Toronto.
